If you're here, you're here for a reason.  Maybe you're struggling with chronic health conditions.  Maybe you've been trying to lose weight and it just won't stay off.  Maybe you've seen a family member or friend struggle and you'd like to help them as well as prevent yourself from experiencing the same.   It could just be possible that you want to make positive healthy changes for you and your family. 

 

Regardless of why you're here, I'm glad that you are.   We live in a world that has become grossly disconnected from the human form as it was designed.  We have "nutrition gurus" on every corner, more pharmaceuticals than you can shake a stick at, and yet humans are more confused and sicker than ever.  Our confidence in the healing power of the body as well as our health is declining and you may feel powerless in this situation.

The great thing is, that you're not!

 

The fact of the matter is, the body can heal, you can trust your intuition, you can reach your health and fitness goals, you just haven't found the support that you need... until now

It is my mission and my hope that I can help you on your journey so you can live with vitality!

Trying to find a coach that's right for you may feel a bit like online dating, so let me take a moment to break the ice and tell you a little bit about myself, my journey, and why I do what I do!

​

For the majority of my life I was on the Standard American Diet (SAD) doing the standard American things that we all do.  Exercise was important to my parents and I exercised sporadically growing up, but there was no focus on healthy nutrition.  My weight fluctuated and I had some ups and downs in this area, but my focus was always on my physique and never on health or wellness. 

​

For most of my teens and early 20s I had gastrointestinal problems as well as depression and anxiety.  The only "support" I was given at the time was pharmaceutical.  Not knowing any better, that's the route that I took.

 

In my mid 20's, I was blessed with my first child and shortly after that, I was diagnosed with migraine.  I knew nothing about migraine and the physician I saw sent me on my way with a script for Sumatriptan.  Things were status quo for some time and things were manageable until work became incredibly stressful and demanding.  Around the same time, I developed peri-oral dermatitis and this would persist for several years.

 

Fast forward to 2020 when we had our second child.  At this time, I had a long list of unexplained symptoms like chronic joint pain, red ear syndrome, ligament instability, tinnitus, chronic muscle pain, scoliosis and military neck, food sensitivities, and many other symptoms.  I was in my early 30s and my body felt like it was starting to fail me!

 

Chronic migraine (classified as 15 or more symptomatic days per month) was the primary focus so I put all of my efforts into learning about, managing, and hopefully treating my migraine disease.  Unfortunately, western medicine does not believe that there is a cure for migraine.  I played Russian roulette with pharmaceuticals for a couple of years and it was always meant to be temporary.  I did not believe that I was doomed to live the rest of my life in pain.  In the mean time, I sought out specialist after specialist trying to heal from migraine and these other unexplained symptoms.  

 

At the end of 2022, I was eating what I felt was a healthy diet of organic foods, limited processed foods, we ate out 1-2x per week since we were so busy, I exercised regularly and I drank a little bit of alcohol every weekend or two.  I was happy with my physique and I appeared to be healthy, but I felt like I was falling apart.  I was spending thousands of dollars on alternative treatments and supplements.  Hours and hours on physical therapy and doctors appointments.  And at the end of the day, EVERYTHING was getting worse. 

 

My cholesterol was a dangerously high 234, my peri-oral dermatitis was so RIDICULOUS and embarrassing that I didn't want to go out in public, the joint pain in my shoulder was now so bad that I could not throw a ball to my kid or get something off of a shelf above my head without hours or days of pain, I developed histamine intolerance, red ear syndrome was getting worse, upper back/neck/and shoulder pain was almost daily, 

 

Late 2022/early 2023, I started to implement wellness techniques, prioritize sleep, manage stress better, etc on a regular basis.  I used apps and tried to learn how to better regulate my nervous system.  I was on a mission for health and wellness.

 

Let me tell you when I say that I did NOT want to change my diet.  No way, no how.  However, I kept reading research studies on the benefits of a whole food plant based diet.  I read books, studies and articles.  I watched podcasts and documentaries.  If I was awake and child-free, audible was playing and I was learning.  Finally after 11 months of educating myself on a plant based diet and learning about nutrition and all of the concerns like protein, iron, B12, etc, I pulled the trigger and went plant-based.  

 

Within a few months, things began to shift.  My peri-oral dermatitis was finally no longer visible.  Migraine severity decreased, and then migraine frequency decreased.  My cholesterol dropped to 148.  I rarely have neck and shoulder pain and it's certainly never for no reason.  My shoulder pain is gone and I can now partake in workouts and play with our kids without being afraid of spending the next few days in pain.  Even though I have officially been diagnosed with Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos-Syndrome (hEDS), all of the painful symptoms associated with it are dissipating by using food as medicine and prioritizing wellness.  

 

As of this bio update, it's June 2024 and I am amazed every day at how much progress has been made on this healing journey.  So much has improved and I am incredibly grateful for the lessons I have learned and for this experience.

Despite all of this, over the course of the past few years, I have obtained certifications in Sports Nutrition, Personal Training, Virtual Coaching, and I am currently completing my coursework to be come a Certified Holistic Nutritionist as well as a Certified Health and Wellness Coach.  Up until this point, I have coached clients on a personal training and sports nutrition basis, but there is so much lacking with this type of coaching.  Fitness is far more than physique.  It is encompassing of physical fitness, emotional fitness, health, wellness,  energy, spirituality, financial wellbeing, and even more beyond that. 

​

This journey has led me to YOU.
